Yum.

The latest thing we've been working on are the menu items that will be available for purchase at our event (in addition to the free healthy snacks, of course).  I think we've got some good ideas!  We've definitley settled on hot chocolate (with a dash of Kahlua, Amaretto, Gran Marnier, etc for non-driving adults-same goes for coffee) and cookies.  There will also be some rather delicious paninis.  If you've got some picky eaters we will have quesadillas and chicken nuggets, too!  Still working it, so if you have suggestions, please let us know!  We'd love to hear them!

  1. I visited this blog to find out more about this event because I was interested in attending. I'm very disappointed there's going to be alcohol served. I have no problem with social drinking, but this is a child-centered event. Alcohol isn't appropriate.

  2. @dani: We chose not to close the bar because we want parents to be able to be “adult” and just relax; just like they would at a barbecue, wedding or baseball game. However, parents are expected to be responsible and drinks are kept out of reach from the children. We have professional bartenders and numerous safeguards in place to make sure adults are responsible. We have not had any problems. Most importantly, the main focus of our event is dancing. The bar is open, but it is never the primary focus of the party. Our event is for parents and children to interact with each other through music and dance. The Little Disco is just good, clean fun!

  3. Hi! 1st - thank you for organizing such a fun event look forward to the one in June! 2nd - agree alcohol not a good idea. Kids need to see adults can have fun with out it! What if someone has an accident going home with alcohol on their breath - just not worth it! Ditch the alchohol just keep the good clean fun! :)
